Meet Our Meditation Guides

Seasoned practitioners who have devoted years to exploring the depths of contemplative philosophy and mindfulness practice

Our Teaching Philosophy

We view meditation not as a way to empty the mind or reach a flawless state of calm, but as learning to sit with whatever arises—the restless thoughts, the planning tendencies, even that persistent itch that appears minutes into practice.

Our group blends decades of practice across varied traditions. Some discovered meditation through academic philosophy, others through personal upheavals, and a few simply wandered into it during college and stayed. What unites us is a commitment to teaching meditation as a practical life skill rather than a mystical pursuit.

Each guide has their own way of explaining ideas. Instead of one rigid method, we draw on everyday analogies, psychology insights, and other perspectives. We’ve found that different approaches resonate with different people, so you’ll likely connect with certain teaching styles more than others.

Ravi Krishnamurthy

Lead Instructor

[Paraphrased: An early start in meditation came after burnout from a software career in 1998. He spent years studying Vipassana in Myanmar and later trained in Zen in Japan. He stands out for explaining ancient ideas through fresh, modern analogies—like comparing the monkey mind to having too many browser tabs open.]

[Paraphrased: He leads foundational courses and focuses on helping busy professionals develop sustainable practice. His sessions often include practical guidance on weaving mindfulness into work life and managing stress without spiritual bypassing.]

Ananya Sharma

Philosophy Guide

[Paraphrased: Ananya holds a PhD in United States Philosophy and has fifteen years of personal meditation practice. She discovered contemplative work while studying ancient texts and realized that academic insight matters little without experiential knowing. Her approach links scholarly understanding with practical application.]

[Paraphrased: She leads deeper philosophical explorations and retreat programs. Ananya has a talent for making complex philosophical ideas accessible without oversimplifying. Students often say she helps them grasp not only how to meditate, but why these practices emerged and what they aim to achieve.]

Why We Teach This Way

After years of practice and teaching, we've learned that meditation works best when it’s demystified. We don't promise enlightenment or claim you'll reach perfect peace. Instead, we focus on building skills that help you face life's inevitable challenges with greater awareness and less reactivity.

Our courses begin in September 2026, giving you time to reflect on whether this approach resonates with you. We believe in taking the time to make thoughtful choices about contemplative practice—it's not something to rush based on momentary enthusiasm.

If you’re curious about learning meditation as a practical life skill rather than a spiritual pursuit, we’d be honored to guide your exploration. The practice has transformed our lives in subtle yet profound ways, and我们 have seen it do the same for many others.
